Dr.Deepak Ranade
MS General Surgery
Dr. Deepak M. Ranade has completed his M.Ch (Magister Chirurgiae) Neurosurgery in 1994 from University of Bombay (K.E.M. Hospital).
He topped the University with a gold medal.
Other Qualifications:
M.S. General Surgery from University of Pune (B.J. Medical College) in 1991.M.B.B.S. General Medicine & Surgery from University of Pune (B.J. Medical College) in 1986.
Work Experience:
He is “Professor and Head of Department” of Neurosurgery at D.Y. Patil Medical College, Pimpri. Working as Post Graduate Guide for M.Ch (Neurosurgery) students. He worked as an Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at K.E.M. Hospital Pune (Feb. 1996 to 2000) and performed around 300 major neurosurgeries independently.
He performed brain and spine surgeries since 1996.
Presentation and Fellowships:
He has done a fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery at Phoenix, Arizona and is one of the very few spine surgeons who are proficient with this revolutionary technique.
He also has done a fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery in Seoul, South Korea.
He has presented papers at National and International Conferences.
He writes regularly in the Speaking Tree column of the Times Of India and has so far contributed more than 25 articles in this prestigious column.
Dr. Ranade is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and spine surgeon attached to Krishna Hospital and can be consulted by prior appointment.
He is also the consultant Neurosurgeon at Shashwat Hospital, Karve Road, and Sanjeevan Hospital, Karve Road.His consulting rooms are at Sanjeevan Hospital, Karve road and is available for consultations between 3-5 pm on all working days, except Tuesday.

Narayani Ganesh is a freelance editor and writer. She was Associate Editor, The Times of India and Editor, The Speaking Tree columns in The Times of India and Economic Times until January 2021. She joined the TOI group in 1987.
She has a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Madras. More than 30 volumes of selections from The Speaking Tree have been published over the years by Times Group Books.
A former associate editor of The Times of India, leader writer and editor of The Speaking Tree, Narayani Ganesh writes on issues concerning the environment, science and technology, travel and tourism, heritage, philosophy, spirituality and health.
Jayant Khandare, Ph.D. Professor, MIT WPU School of Pharmacy
Jayant Khandare is a Professor at MIT WPU, School of Pharmacy, Pune.
He has Masters in Pharmacy and Ph.D. in Chem. Engg. from National Chem. Lab., Pune, India- 2004. He was a postdoctoral research fellow with Prof. R. Kannan at Chemical Engg. Dept., and Children’s Hospital, Wayne State University, Detroit, and as a Research Associate with Prof. Tamara Minko, at The State University of New Jersey at Rutgers, USA. He is an Alexander von Humboldt experienced researcher, Germany and was in a research group with Prof. Rainer Haag at Freie University, Berlin, Germany.
He was Head of polymer innovation group in the Piramal Drug Discovery Centre, Mumbai. His research interest are interfaced at cancer biology and advanced biomaterials for cancer detection, drug targeting and cellular responses.
He has published over 60 research papers, reviews, and book chapters and has filed 18 US/PCT patent applications. His high peer reviewed manuscripts have been published in, Scientific Reports, Chem. Soc. Review, PNAS, Biomaterials, Nanoscale, Adv Material Healthcare, ASCO, AACR etc. He is a recipient of multiple academic as well as innovation research grants by, DBT, DST, BIRAC, etc. He is a recipient of ‘Best Pharma. Scientist’ Award (APTI) and ‘The Global Innovation Award’ in Medical Devices by DBT, GOI India, 2020.
His research-based start-up - Actorius Innovations and Research Pvt. Ltd. has clinically developed an innovation platform for detecting Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) from cancer patients' blood samples. OncoDiscover- is the first Indian Medical Device and technology approved as a ‘liquid biopsy’ for cancer detection by Drug Controller General of India/ CDSCO. It is now widely used for isolating Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) and has utility for early metastasis detection, prognosis, and monitoring relapse in cancer patients.
He has led multiple clinical trials and samples over 1500 cancer patients for the CTC detection in Indian phenotypes with the support of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and other hospitals. His technology, in reducing a Pharma Process and size of the tablet as sustained-release (SR) for type II diabetes drug has reached in the market. Additionally, the technology platform for the colon novel delivery system has completed the human study.
His research group at MIT, WPU is involved in accounting the cancer resistance, cellular deformations, and designing advanced targeted drug delivery systems.
Guruji Dr H R Nagendra

Guruji Dr. H. R. Nagendra is the Vice Chancellor of VYASA Yoga University. He has been the guiding force behind the VYASA movement. After receiving his doctorate in 1968, he served as faculty of IISc in Department of Mechanical Engineering.
He then went to Canada as Post Doctoral Research Fellow in the University of British Columbia, Canada in 1970. From there, he moved to NASA Marshall Space Flight Centre, USA as Post-Doctoral Research Associate in 1971 and moved to Engineering Science Laboratory, Harvard University, USA as a Consultant in 1972. He served as Visiting Staff at Imperial College of Science and Technology, London later. In 1975, he joined Vivekananda Kendra, a service mission, as a whole-time worker.
From 1986 to the present, he is the Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Research Foundation, Bangalore and the Director of Indian Yoga Institute, Prashanti Kutiram.
From 2000 to the present, he has been serving as President, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore and from 2002 to present, he serves as the Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, the Yoga University in Bangalore. He has published 30 Research Papers in Engineering and more than 60 papers on Yoga. He has authored and co-authored 35 books on Yoga.

Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi is currently working as Professor and Dean of Shastra Faculty in Karnataka Samskrita University, Bangalore, Karnataka. He also holds the additional charge of the Director of Melkote Sanskrit Academy. Formerly he was the Director of Sanskrit Academy a Research Institute funded by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He started his academic carrier as a lecturer in purnaprajna Vidyapeeth sanskrit college and later in 2000, he joined and served in Tirupati Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth a deemed university.
He has also served in capacities as Acting Vicechancellor for one year, Registrar I/c, Director of Sanskrit Education of the state, and nodal officer in Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bengaluru.
He is member of various committees and national & international academic bodies such as Academic Council of RSVP Tirupati, Board of Management in Chinmaya University, Board of Studies in many universities. He is also appointed as Hon. Chairman of Managing committee of Mumbadevi Adarsh Mahavidyalaya mumbai. He worked as a member of the committee for vision document for the development of Sanskrit constituted by MHRD Govt of India. He is a part of the NAAC guidelines preparation committee for sanskrit universities. He was also member of Grant in aid committee, MHRD, Govt of India. He participated in faculty selection in EFLU hyd as the nominee of President of India.
He has been serving as a member in the selection committees for various awards in central Sahitya academy. He has been associated with many national and international research journals as editorial or advisory board.
He has earned the respect of being invited as visiting faculty in many national level institutions. Recently he was sent to an international conference organised by Indian embassy in Paris by the Ministry of external affairs , Govt of India.
He is known for organisation of summer schools, workshops, international and National conferences and seminars in many places. He has delivered around 50 key note addresses and Spl lectures in the national events. He presented around 30 papers on different topics in the seminars.

H.H. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni Ji a versatile thinker, writer, poet and social reformer has been continuously making efforts for National character building, development of human values and establishing non- violence, peace and mutual co-operation in the society from last 39 years. He has traveled on foot about 20000 kilometers throughout the country for removing social evils and for propagating moral values. In order to give practical shape to these values he founded "Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti" and thus made his field of activities spread throughout the world. With the establishment of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti he started a strong movement against social evils like abortion of female child, drug addiction, Environmental Pollution etc.
H.H. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Ji was born on April 17th 1961 in Pachpadra City. After completing his formal education he deeply studied Jain, Buddhist, Vedic and other Indian and foreign thoughts (Philosophies). He is well read in Prakrit, Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Gujrati, Kannarese and many other languages. Acharya Dr. Lokesh is a writer, he has written more than dozen books in prose and poetry.
H.H. Acharya Lokesh Muni has been working tirelessly for Interreligious and interfaith harmony. He has been invited to discuss Interreligious Harmony with supreme spiritual leaders of the world including His Holiness Pope Francis, Dalai Lama, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and many more.
H.H. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni was honoured with ‘National Communal Harmony Award 2010’ by Government of India, in a prestigious ceremony organized at Vigyan Bhawan. Acharya Ji has been honored with ‘Ambassador of Peace’ at London Parliament. He has been honored by United Peace Federation with ‘Ambassador of Peace Award’ in 2014 at United Nations Centre for his remarkable contributions towards World Peace & Communal Harmony. In 2006, Hon'ble Smt. Pratibha Patil conferred the famous 'Ethical Honor' of Gulzarilal Nanda Foundation to Dr. Lokesh for his distinguished services in establishing Ahimsa, Peace and mutual trust in the society. He is honored with ‘Keys of Milpitas City’ Mayor of Milpitas twice for his distinguished contribution in the field of non- violence, peace and mutual co-operation. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni has been honored with Bharat Gaurav Award at U.N. Headquarters, U.S.A. Acharya Lokeshji also honoured in the Assembly of California, USA.
H.H. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni is master in the field of Meditation, Yoga, and Peace Education. His contribution is the mode of popular 'Peace Education' which is a combination of ancient meditation- Yoga and current scientific research. It brings an end to the animal instinct in the human beings and awakens the human and spiritual values. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni has made Indian Culture proud by addressing from many national and international platforms likes Parliament of World’s Religions, United Nations Organisation and London Parliament. Acharya Lokesh is the Advisory Forum member of KAICIID (King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue).
