Hon’ble Padma Vibhushan Dr. Karan Singh Ji (Video Address)

Dr. Karan Singh, born on March 9, 1931, is a prominent Indian politician, diplomat, and philosopher, whose career spans over six decades. The son of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, Karan Singh was appointed as the Prince Regent of the state in 1949 at the young age of 18. He later became the first Sadr-i-Riyasat and then the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, holding these key positions during crucial political transitions, including the controversial 1953 dismissal of the state's Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah.

Karan Singh played a significant role in Indian national politics as well. He joined the Union Cabinet in 1967, becoming the youngest Cabinet minister in India's history. He held important portfolios, including Tourism and Civil Aviation, Health, and Family Planning. His tenure is especially noted for his involvement in the abolition of princely privileges in 1971, which formally ended the special status and privileges enjoyed by India's erstwhile royalty.

In the diplomatic realm, Singh served as India’s Ambassador to the United States from 1989 to 1990. He also represented India on UNESCO’s Executive Board and was a member of its International Commission on Education in the 21st century. Besides his political and diplomatic career, Karan Singh has had an extensive academic and philosophical presence, serving as Chancellor of several prestigious universities such as Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Jammu University.

Throughout his career, Singh has been known for shifting political allegiances, being associated with the Indian National Congress for most of his career but later supporting various political formations. His career as a parliamentarian includes representing both houses of India's Parliament: Lok Sabha from 1967 to 1984 and Rajya Sabha from 1996 to 2018

Dr. Mangesh T. Karad

Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad is being widely acknowledged as a visionary and a farsighted leader who has made significant contribution towards the growth of higher education in Maharashtra. He has gained a multifaceted and an enlightening experience during his long stint of 32 years in the Education domain and also known for his excellent academic credentials in the Field of Technology and Management.

Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad did his Masters in Mechanical Engineering followed by the doctorate in Management studies. He had made a modest beginning as a Faculty member with the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) and risen in the ranks to become the Director of the MIT college of Engineering & MIT Polytechnic.

He is the harbinger and strong proponent of the Holistic and value based education in the country. He has been playing a pivotal role in the Internalization of the Higher education and made substantial contribution for bringing the effective governance into the education system. He is famous for his problem solving skills and inspiring leadership in the Organization. His ability of maintaining the balance and composure in the toughest of situations differentiates him from his contemporaries.

He is instrumental in the diversification of the course and programs in the MIT-ADT University. He is being credited for launching the niche programs in the Field of Marine Engineering, Bio-Engineering, and Food Technology etc. Multidisciplinary approach and the micro specializations in the MIT-ADT University is the manifestation of his out of the box thinking. He has gained phenomenal expertise in project management and in laying the strong foundation for the medical colleges in Maharashtra and the other states of the country. He has also made remarkable contribution in the area of policy making for the Higher education sector.

He is famous for his benevolence and the acts of philanthropy. He has been making concerted efforts for the pilgrimage upliftment and the social transformation. He is holding various portfolios in the associations, universities and the Government bodies. He is amongst the Management council members of the Pune University. He was also empaneled as an advisory board member for the planning commission in the past. He is currently heading PERA as a President and officiating as a Vice President for the EPSI.

Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar

Raghunath Anant Mashelkar is a renowned Indian scientist and innovator with a distinguished career spanning decades.

Mashelkar's legacy is deeply rooted in his pioneering research in polymer science and engineering, particularly his groundbreaking work on biodegradable polymers and drug delivery systems. His leadership at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) transformed the organization into a global leader in research and development. A champion of intellectual property rights, Mashelkar played a pivotal role in advocating for the protection of traditional knowledge in India. As a fervent advocate for innovation, he championed the concept of "Inclusive Innovation," emphasizing the importance of involving all segments of society in the innovation process. Hon'ble Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar

World famous Computer Scientist

Major Achievements and Awards:
• Dr. Vijay Bhatkar is one of the most acclaimed scientist and IT leader of India. He is best known as the architect of India's first supercomputer and as the founder Executive Director of C-DAC, India's national initiative in supercomputing. He is credited with the creation of several national institutions, notably amongst them being C-DAC, ER&DC, IIITM-K, I2IT, ETH Research Lab, MKCL and India International Multiversity.
• He has been a Member of Scientific Advisory Committee to Cabinet of Govt. of India, Governing Council Member of CSIR, India and eGovernance Committee, Chairman of Governments of Maharashtra and Goa.
• A Fellow of IEEE, ACM, CSI, INAE and leading scientific, engineering and professional societies of India, he has been honored with Padmashri, Padma Bhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan awards. Other recognitions include Saint Dnyaneshwar World Peace Prize, Lokmanya Tilak Award, HK Firodia and Dataquest Lifetime Achievement Awards, and many others. He was a nominee for Petersburg Prize and is a Distinguished Alumni of IIT, Delhi.
• Dr. Bhatkar has authored and edited 12 books and 80 research & technical papers. His current research interests include Exascale Supercomputing, AI, Brain-Mind-Consciousness, and Synthesis of Science & Spirituality.
• He is presently appointed as the Chancellor of Nalanda University, Chancellor of India International Multiversity, Chief Mentor of I2IT.
• He has been the Chairman of ETH Research Lab, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Delhi and National President of Vijnan Bharati.

Hon'ble Dr. Brian J. Grim

President, Religious Freedom & Business Foundation, Utha, USA

Dr. Brian J. Grim is the founding president of the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation (RFBF), an organization dedicated to promoting the connection between religious freedom and economic success. His expertise lies in the intersection of religious freedom, business, and international religious demography. Dr. Grim holds a Ph.D. in quantitative sociology from Penn State University and has authored numerous influential books and academic articles on the subject, including The Price of Freedom Denied and The World Religion Database. He has also served as a senior researcher at the Pew Research Center, where he led efforts to collect and analyze global data on religion.

Before founding the RFBF, Grim was involved in various international efforts, including the establishment of the first Western-style business school in the former Soviet Union. He is widely recognized for his research, which highlights the significant contributions of religion to the U.S. economy—estimated at $1.2 trillion annually, surpassing major technology companies like Apple and Amazon. Dr. Grim has been a speaker at prestigious forums like the World Economic Forum in Davos and TEDx events, and he works closely with global organizations such as the United Nations on initiatives that promote interfaith dialogue and peace.

In addition to his work with the RFBF, Dr. Grim serves as a research scholar at Baylor University and Boston University, and he holds advisory positions with several other academic institutions and organizations. His contributions to the field have earned him numerous awards, including the World Peace Award and the Korean Peninsula Peace Prize. His work emphasizes that religious freedom fosters innovation, stability, and economic growth for societies worldwide.

Rev. Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad - an eminent educationist having teaching experience of 40 years in College of Engineering as an Undergraduate and Postgraduate teacher, thinker a devoted teacher and a dedicated social worker, is a man of great vision, who is totally committed to the development of technical education and the cause of raising the qualities of life of the Indian masses for the betterment of tomorrow. He was awarded the Degree of Doctorate in Philosophy and Education by the International University of Washington.
He is the founder of various initiatives such as “Maharashtra Institute of Technology, WORLD PEACE CENTER of MAEER's MIT, Pune, UNESCO CHAIR for Human Rights, Democracy and Peace, MIT World Peace University Shree Kshetra Alandi Parisar Vikas Samiti, Saint Shree Dnyaneshwara and Saint Shree Tukaram Endowment Lecture Series Trust. Apart from recognition for his works in education.
He has been honored by the various awards such as National award for the year 1992 for the most outstanding work in Engineering and Technical Education for his commendable rural development work in the field of Environmental and Pollution Control at Shree Kshetra Alandi-Dehu, “Madhav - Mandakini Award” for his commendable work in the field of Rural Development - Environmental and Pollution Control at Shree Kshetra Alandi - Dehu in Pune district for changing the outlook of these holy places. Rahul is advancing the inherited vision and mission of his visionary academician father Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, Founder MIT Group of Institutions, with a fearless passion and deep-rooted patriotic intent in his heart. Through extensive deliberations and dialogue of 3 days, he aims to ignite the spirit of thousands of teachers every year so that they continue to look beyond the commercial temptations for creating deeper and wider impact on the society through this noble profession. He firmly believes that as we are fast moving towards the Knowledge Era, we are sure that NTC will benefit all the important stakeholders of Education Process including Students, Teachers, Parents, Industry, Law Makers and Society at large.
• He is also the Founder & Convener of National Women’s Parliament (NWP). This is a common platform for women from diverse background like politics, social sector, education, sports, industry, media, cinema, arts & culture, judiciary and young aspiring girl students to stage their experiences ,share knowledge and research in the area of women’s social economic and political empowerment. Its first annual national conclave was hosted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on February 10, 11 & 12, 2017. Over 18,000 girl students from colleges of Higher Education were connected to women legislatures, parliamentarians, women corporate leaders, and representatives from social sector for a reciprocal and continuing assignation. The platform will stay faithful to its endeavors till significant progress is made in achieving respectable representation of women in national and world political order.
