The speaker began by drawing a similarity between their university and MIT-WPU. He further states that his university employs a variant of value based education by believing in a student’s personal honour code which dictates a ban on consumption of harmful substances, a ban on foul speech and an abstinence from physical contact before marriage. He further stresses that since we are all one people, we must also believe that we come from an individual god. He also agrees that spiritual education which provides the basics for a strong ethical and moral fibre can only come about when universities get guided from religious organizations, as his does.

The speaker broke down the meaning and purpose of what a university is and comes with the answer that it is the transmission of knowledge as well as generate knowledge. He rues the fact that most universities today deal effectively in the transmission of knowledge but not in its creation. Research is not only about quantifiable entities, it is also about researching into ones nature and into the very fabric of humanity which by its own definition is unquantifiable. He wishes to see universities put more emphasis on the creation of knowledge. Creation of intellectual property is a must according to him.

The speaker spoke of what constitutes a good and vital university. He believes that it must contain extraordinary vision and drive of its creator, so that it may be transmitted throughout the universities and to the staff and students alike. He believes that it is imperative to have individuals such as Revered Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad AND Shri Rahul V Karad. He also mentioned the shortcomings of our present education structure and how to combat them. Lack of access to higher education, lack of practical knowledge and outdated equipment are some of the problems. He also highlighted the problem of fragmentation mentioning the numerous number of universities in India.

The learned speaker spoke about innovation and driving economic development through the use of universities since they are the premier institutions for research and innovation. Employability and research should be the focus areas for universities. She also elaborated on multiple other developments that universities must undergo such as yoga and meditation courses.

The doctor stressed on the amount of stress that students and graduates undergo. He elaborated on the numerous reasons that stress develops. He advocates the use of meditation and the use of yoga in order to combat stress. He believes that stress is the greatest challenge for students to overcome and he explained a meditation technique which he practices which is more akin to spirituality than meditation.

The speaker spoke about the futility of trying to come up with a singular answer for any proposed question or problem when the question pertains to human requirement. He also wishes people to know that each human mind is different and thus must be treated differently otherwise they cannot achieve the heights they would have been able to. He went on to give numerous examples to back his supposition up.

The energetic speaker spoke of how the energy and power of the youth must be unleashed albeit with good guidance and direction. He spoke of numerous initiatives which aids students to hone their skills and channel their energies in a positive manner. He also thanked the assembled dignitaries and then thanked the work the Karad family has done for students as well as for universities in India.

The speaker comes from an agricultural college and laments the amount of attention his field is getting. He also understands that the issues of the youth and their education can only be resolved by including a large number of courses in humanity, excellent teachers and efficient administration within universities. He quotes his own example that when he was studying in IIT, the curriculum included humanities as well and not anymore. He also reemphasized the role of great teachers in creating great individuals.

The speaker stressed on environmental and ecological development concurrent to the education they receive. He explained about how in Paris a few days ago a hologram of Gandhi was exhibited and made to answer questions about education. The video was then played for the benefit of all who attended the conference.

The learned speaker spoke about the time when India was the foremost educational institute in the world courtesy of ancient universities such as Nalanda and Takshila. She goes on to state that these universities did not exclusively delve in philosophy but also in science, maths, logic and others. The key to their long reign was they always evolved with the times and kept their curriculum abreast of changes. Now India being a solution centre will also generate solutions for world peace and spiritual; salvations, of we understand we are the knowledge repertoire of the world.
