Session 12 - Valedictory & Pune Declaration

Shri Rahul Karad - The learned speaker spoke at length about the World Parliament and how so many distinguished guests got together even in these pandemic times so as to hold a very important event. He spoke of how important the role of education is in realization of global peace and harmony. He also spoke of the work MAEERs has done in educating individuals and also imbuing them with talent enough to become peace ambassadors. He spoke of how MIT-WPU is the first institution for life transformation, a feature no other university in the world has. He spoke of how qualified individuals must have peaceful values inculcated in them so as not to have destructive mindsets. He spoke of the World Peace Dome initiative and the reasoning as well as the vision behind that grand monument dedicated to all humanity and peace.

Dr Varsha Das - The learned speaker started by stating how religions speak about the same issues and yet generate so much strife for the sake of minute changes in definitions. She believes that looking out for the welfare of others will result in ushering in a peaceful epoch. The godliness of human nature should convince us that peace is not an individualistic approach. She belieevs that practicing truth and non violence is key to achieving lasting peace. She also spoke of how his version of simplicity and inclusive economics is the key to doing away with borders and ushering in a peaceful age.

Hon Shri Biswa Bhushan Harichandan - The honorable speaker spoke frankly and candidly about what is required to further the idea of world peace. He spoke of the importance of tempering the attitudes of future political leaders by imbuing in theri character harmony and non violence. He also spoke of the importance of education and how these principles need to be heavily expounded upon to make a meaningful impact.

Rev Prof Dr Vishwanath D Karad - The revered speaker humbly spoke about his journey and his challenges so far. He spoke of how the spark was Swami Vivekananda and his many teachings, particularly that the union of science and religion will bring about peace for mankind. He understood this line to be his guiding principle and he still vehemently takes no credit for the ideas that he has realised, simply stating that he is simply the purveyor of the idea and not responsible for the idea’s genesis. He spoke of the commonality between Sant Dnyaneshwara and many particle physicists. He had created the dome to catalyze the peace process throughout the world.

Padma Bhushan Ela Gandhi - The learned speaker began by enunciating the seven sins according to Mahatma Gandhi. She then informed the viewers that she has followed this conference with a lot of enthusiasm and also took the time to speak about the sessions that particularly impressed her. She spoke of how today the importance of Gandhi’s messages are more important than ever and gave many parables based on the Mahatma’s life which can be interpreted as sustainable and eco friendly with an emphasis on an inclusive economy.

Dr Sudarshan Iyengar - The learned speaker started by posting a gedanken about how Mahatma Gandhi would feel if he was alive today in this digital age. He is convinced that the Mahta would be delighted at the speed of dissemination of information across the globe. He then mused over the correlation between science and religion from a Gandhian perspective.

Shri Sunil Shastri - The revered guest started by thanking Prof Dr Vishwanath D Karad and Shri Rahul Karad for the World Parliament. He rues that he could not be there on his own due to Covid but marvelled at the technology at present which allowed the conference to take place nonetheless. He was very pleased with the entire parliament which he has watched over the past days. He then spoke of his father Shri Lal Bahadur Shatri, earthwhile PM of India about how to understand India and his father unequivocally recommended the works of Mahatma Gandhi. This is why the speaker is a ‘Bhakt’, still of Gandhi. He is certain that the message of the Mahatma is going to save humanity and bring about peace. Lastly he asked to be invited in person to Pune and MIT so he can see for himself all the marvelousness about it that he has heard.
